Your gift to Housing Matters ends homelessness for families and individuals in Santa Cruz County by getting them into stable housing. With 35 years of experience and nine different housing programs, we are committed to empowering our unhoused neighbors to reclaim the dignity that can only come with stable housing.

Actions speak louder than words: your gift today will be instrumental in helping the next person into permanent, stable housing.

We are dedicated to working with the next person, and the next, and the next, until homelessness in Santa Cruz is rare, brief, and non-recurring. That takes vision, effort and commitment—which takes money.

There are a lot of false promises when you’re homeless. People get their hopes up about housing or some opportunity and then it doesn’t happen. That’s why you see people sitting outside crying, because everything just falls apart over and over again. For Casa Azul to come along is great because it gives everyone out there hope. Casa Azul [has given] me security. It makes me feel excited. We all need hope, especially the homeless. Hope is really lost out there on the streets.”

Housing Matters really came through for me. There are resources here for those who are ready to work with them. It takes a lot of will, but if you take advantage of it and are ready to be helped, then it’s possible. I am an example of that.
