Bio
Lori is an advocate, and longtime community worker whose life has spanned recovery, homelessness, global anti-exploitation work, and housing advocacy. With more than 30 years in recovery, she has supported women escaping exploitation, worked in homeless services for decades, and shared her lived experience internationally to inspire healing and change. Now based in Santa Cruz, Lori brings honesty, resilience, and deep compassion to her work with the Lived Experience Advisory Group (LEAG).
I was homeless for seven and a half years and I applied for housing here at Housing Matters two years ago and I finally got housed but I've been homeless off and on for most of my life…I'm a certified domestic violence counselor and a certified community health worker…I love being able to volunteer. I love working with my community."
